Due to the growing interest and need to protect us, or structures, installation and services against damage from lightning, Time Line Serves implemented this course in its training program.
The standard for protection against Lightning is the NEN-EN-IEC 62305 which has recently been updated. The standard itself consists of four (4) separate parts:
Part 1 : General principles to be followed in the protection against lightning
Part 2 : Risk assessment for structure or service due to lightning flashes to earth
Part 3 : Requirements for protection of a structure against physical damage by means of a LPS (Lightning Protection System) against injury to living being
Part 4 : Design, installation, inspection and maintenance against lightning flashes to electrical and/or electronic objects
This training contains the most important information of those 4 parts of this NEN-EN-IEC 62305 standard and will also include knowledge of the right materials to be used, how to make a correct inventory of the situation and many tips on how to reduce costs by implementing the right materials during construction.
This training will be teached by a highly experienced instructor who earlier worked for the Nederland Normalisatie Instituut (NNI / NEN), VEV (Vereniging Elektrotechnisch Vakonderwijs) and on regular bases provides his services to STABU.
No previous knowledge of lightning protection is required to participate in this training. Participants are expected to have good knowledge of electrical installations.

Goal
The goal of this training is to learn to design, implement and install a lightning protection installation in a proper and economical way according to the newest regulations.
Participants will get familiar with the available materials, the risk and the essence of lightning protection.
All participants will recieve a certificate of training after completion of the course.
